Batu Karas Beach is a small fishing village, one of the most relaxed places to kick back in Java and has one of the coast’s best surf beaches, sheltered by a rocky promontory. Batu Karas is 1 hour away from Pangandaran.

Locate 40 km from Pangandaran beach and 135 km from Bandung, west java, Indonesia. You can hire a car or motorcycle from Pangandaran Beach.

Compare to Bali and Lombok, the wave at Batu Karas is more friendly, 2-3 metres high. If you want to learn surfing, this is the right location.

Accommodation favored by surfers can be found 1km beyond the fishing village at the headland beach. Surfboards can be rented and lessons are available.

This place is a heaven for beginner surfer, November to April (wet season) provides favored time of year for waves.

In Batu Karas, we can enjoy the dark sand along the beach, lush greenery on the rock, and fantastic waves of the sea. There is also a camping ground in Batu Karas.
