Makassar once was the main harbor and trade center in pre-colonial Indonesia. It is situated in the South of Sulawesi, right in the center of the Archipelago. Currently, it is a big, but pleasant city, with Fort Rotterdam as its main attraction.

Fort Rotterdam is one of the best-preserved examples of Dutch architecture in Indonesia. This old fortress on Jl. Losari is an icon City of Makassar. Losari is located right in the heart of Makassar City, which is on the Road Comforter, which is located to the west of the city of Makassar, South Sulawesi. Bantimurung is located 42 km from Makassar. You may enjoy Bantimurung, a natural reserve and famous for its butterflies. It is a classic tourist object, a protected area. There are great waterfalls just set amid lushly tropical, and vegetated limestone cliffs.

Bira Beach,approximately 4,5 hours from Makassar. The clear water and sky and swimming is something that could cheer your day in one fine afternoon. This place is unbelievably attractive and the white sands that scattered around the shore is really pretty. Before reaching the beach (approximately 25 minutes from bira), you will pass the village where locals build traditional ship. The famous “PINISHI” Ship is actually produced in this village, and they still continue producing ship till now. It’s also could be additional bonus for your trip if you happen to visit Bira.

Town of Malino, this town is located at an altitude of around 850 meters on the slopes of the Bawakaraeng & Lompobatang mountains. Malino is beautiful located, surrounded by pine trees, green rice teraces and waterfalls. The town is often visited during the weekends by local Makassar people. Passion fruit grows abundantly here. Malino is situated 75 kms southern of Makassar, takes about 2 hours drive.
